“Merkury” Foundation is a private non-governmental and non profit organisation registered in January 2004 on the base on Jowisz Association. The mission of the Foundation is “to change reality with joy”. The objectives of the Foundation are: to help disadvantage people in social inclusion, to help youngsters and their parents in solving family problems, to help addicted people and people who suffers AIDS, to raise awareness of young people about social and medical problems concerning drug abuse, to cooperate with other non-governmental and public bodies in creation local partnership acting for local society. It employs 10 person of permanent staff as well as cooperates with 12 other specialists in area of: violence prevention, violence victims, drug and alcohol prevention and  treatment. The organisational structure is the board consisted of 3 person the Chairman and two members of the board, the Board of Directors consisted of 3 persons. The Foundation has a considerable experience on managing grants. In the period of 2005 - 2008 Merkury realised project within the EQUAL Initiative - Muflon Partnership as well as two Transnational Agreements with Italian, Greek and Portugal partners. The Project concerned the social economy area (social enterprises), The budget of the project was approximately 1 500 EUR. In 2007 the Foundation implemented project CAP - the centre for prevention activities. The budget of the project was 50 000 EUR. The aim of the project was to to increase of the knowledge and skills of teachers in area of the drug abuse and increase the awareness of the youngsters on that issue. The results – 10 teachers with increased skills in working with difficult pupils and their parents, 10 pedagogues with new skills in area of working with the parents of addicted children, 1000 persons that visited the Virtual consultancy point. In 2008 and in 2009 the Foundation implemented project together with Welfare Office aimed on social excluded person suffering homeless, drug and alchohol addiction, violence abuse. Almost 450 persons were educated in area of interpersonal skills as well as vocational development. The budget of the project was 500 000 EUR.  For over 5 years the Merkury Foundation   has been running the care centre for children from social excluded families as well as  runs on-line consultation point for people addicted to drugs, alcohol, HIV/AIDS.
